Limewash in Toronto & the GTA
Limewash: soft, mineral colour that lets brick breathe.
Limewash on brick and masonry exteriors, fireplaces and interior feature walls. A natural, lime-based finish with soft, cloudy movement instead of flat paint.

Limewash isn’t paint. It soaks into the brick and dries with movement and depth, so prep and application decide how it looks.

Limewash, answered.
“5 stars isn’t enough.”
What is limewash?
A finish made from lime and water with natural pigments. It soaks into porous surfaces like brick and stone instead of forming a plastic film, and dries to a soft, chalky, slightly cloudy look.
Can you limewash painted brick?
Limewash needs bare, porous masonry to bond. Brick that’s been painted or sealed usually has to be stripped first, or treated with a primer made for mineral finishes. Paul checks your brick and tells you what it needs.
Is limewash permanent?
It’s long-lasting, but it’s meant to age: over the years it softens and lets more of the brick show through, especially where rain hits it. A fresh coat brings it back. Many people like the weathered look.
Limewash or paint for brick?
Limewash is breathable, mineral and soft-looking, and it lets the brick’s texture show. Paint gives a more uniform, solid colour. Paul can show you both on your brick before you decide.
Do you limewash interior walls and fireplaces?
Yes. Brick fireplaces and interior feature walls are some of the most popular places for limewash, as well as full brick exteriors.
Do you do limewash in Etobicoke and East York?
Yes. We’re based in Etobicoke and do limewash across Toronto, East York, Mississauga and the rest of the GTA.
